Artist Statement

As an artist, I am driven by a desire to express the unspoken, to capture moments of raw emotion, and to create art that resonates deeply with the soul. My work is a journey of transformation, blending vibrant colors, rich textures, and meaningful symbols to evoke thought and spark connection. Whether through bold, textural paintings or intricate, layered pieces, I aim to inspire those who encounter my art to feel something profound.

My creative process is deeply meditative and reflective. I listen to music, allowing its melodies to guide me into a state of energy where creativity flows freely. As I knit the paint onto the canvas, I feel like I’m playing two different melodies, similar to the intricate, emotional contrasts found in the works of Chopin. At times, the process feels chaotic, but just like music, the chaos eventually finds balance, creating layers of texture and color. These layers are like the many layers of an onion, each one revealing deeper complexity. Our lives, too, are like layers—complex, multi-dimensional, and ever-evolving. With each step we take, we uncover more about who we are and the journey we are on.

I often divide the artwork, finding rhythm and beat in mathematical divisions. These divisions represent the patterns of life, the steps we take on our own journey. At times, we may want to combine parts of ourselves or separate them, just as we do with the elements of our lives. In my work, the divisions create a structure, a beat, that echoes the flow of our experiences—sometimes chaotic, sometimes harmonious, but always meaningful.

Symbols play a significant role in my art. They intrigue and fascinate me, offering a chance to explore double meanings and cultural significance. A simple “X,” for example, can symbolize a kiss, a warning to stay away, or the marking of an important document. This duality—the controversy and simplicity of the symbol—is reflective of the complexity of life itself. It’s a play of meaning, culture, and perception, and I enjoy exploring how these symbols can shift and transform depending on the viewer’s perspective.

As an artist and entrepreneur, I’ve learned to merge my creative passion with a desire for freedom and independence. I’m building a life where my art thrives, and I’m dedicated to helping others do the same. Through my work, I invite you to explore the space where art, purpose, and possibility meet.
